We have stayed in two fairly remote locations and the peace is creeping into our harried rhythm slowly. The mountains and forests breathed stillness while the children shrieked delightedly at the freezing temperature of the alpine stream. They got wet anyway.
Ed loved his first taste of 4WD heaven and it took us through some spectacular country. He will write a car-post to share later.
We rose early this morning to get to Craig’s Hut. Thomas told us it was stunningly beautiful and it didn’t disappoint. Craig’s Hut which was built in 1981 as the original set for the first film of The Man From Snowy River. Those vast views; mountain ranges blue with eucalyptus mist. History that makes you feel small in the most reassuring way.
But we can’t linger. Must get to Melbourne in time for Yvie’s birthday dinner!
This makes me miss the high country so much! Let’s do a camping adventure at Mountain Creek at Bogong when you get back.
