See it. That is the bottom line of this post. It is remarkable. We are huge HP fans already but I think anyone would marvel at this performance. The magic is woven so seamlessly throughout the production so as to really embed you in this world. The performance is fast-paced, energetic, emotional, imaginative and so exciting. We ooh-ed and aah-ed our way through both performances. I've never been to a performance before that required me to commit to 5 hours of performance over 1 or two days and I was concerned that it would become tedious and that the children would wriggle. We didn't take Charlotte (thanks Yvette!) but even Zoe (7) who has not read the books, was spellbound.
And we had a great time at the Imperial Hotel rooftop bar where they have invested significant effort into creating an homage to Harry's world for fans. The kids drank butter beer while Ed and I ordered gillyweed tacos and pumpkin tarts for dinner and sipped on phoenix cocktails with Leena, Steve and Yvette.
Ok - butter beer has got to be something to try.. Theres a time I remember Evan making Rum and butter.... ewe...
