Darwin

Darwin was good to us. We spent much of the time at Meg and Paul's place in the bush south of the city. An incredibly peaceful spot, it was a lovely place to connect with family.

We appreciated the opportunity to settle and feel at home for a while. Oh and they had the world's biggest termite mounds on their property!

Nearby was a really fantastic wildlife park. It had a number of great shows including a bird show and a highlight was watching the feeding of the freshwater whiprays and spitting fish. Berry Springs only minutes down the road was a small slice of heaven with yet more warm springs and a waterfall.

Darwin gave us the opportunity to tick off a bunch of jobs so we shopped and organised ourselves for a year living remote. We found a number of public swimming pools and water parks. All free and lots of fun. We ate out a few times and enjoyed Darwin's Greek festival.

We had to go to Crocosaurus Cove...

I had to do some orientation so we were put up in a lovely apartment by the water. The IT orientations was predictably tedious but meeting the team at Careflight and learning how it all works was more exciting.

So we departed for Maningrida refreshed and looking smart!
