Bungle Bungles

Now HERE is a place for breathless admiration. A place to feel wonderfully dwarfed by nature and history. We walked and sat and marvelled at the strange and beautiful landforms.

We were lucky to come in the early dry season and see so many wildflowers.

Finally some family time. We had time to debrief and skim rocks and laugh together. I was particularly taken by a comment of Luca's in which he spontaneously declared that when he has kids he is going to take them on a road trip like this and take them to live in Maningrida for a while to see what life is like there. It was such a relief to hear him say this. Although we know we have given them an enriching life experience it hasn't always been easy and we have uprooted the kids repeatedly. I wondered if it might take many years to appreciate what they had learned from these experiences but it seems not. The value is self evident to Luca now. Phew!
