cousins!

We're in Adelaide with Jess and Steve, Lara and Patchy. We're here for the family but I always enjoy Adelaide. I think of it as the most elegant Australian city. All the sandstone and bluestone, leafy streets and patient traffic. I love the baking dry summers and the short, crisp winters but I think we've been incredibly lucky with the clear, mild Autumn weather right now. We've had plenty of down time to catch up and play. We've had some sort of fun activity every day. We've had lots of laughs and a few tears. We've been able to clean and restock our camper trailer and get ready for the big travel leg coming up next.

Our Adelaide highlights:

our biggest nephew Will was swimming Age National Championships in Adelaide at exactly the same time we were there. We were so proud to see him line up in such a serious competition!

Jess organised a surprise date for Ed and I. Complete with cocktails, mini golf and dinner, we got some space from our small people and had a great night. If you want to do something amazing for someone, show up at their door, take their kids and hand them a couple of addresses and a schedule for a night of stress free fun!

Ed popped back to Canberra to attend the wedding of some special friends. He had a great time with old friends.

We had a lovely picnic in the magnificent Mt Lofty gardens

We went to the zoo and saw their famous pandas.

We played in parks for hours.

We hunted for eggs. First the kids, then the grown ups and lastly Steve. Home for an hour in the late afternoon, dressed in scrubs and between cases, Steve hammed it up in the backyard, searching high and low for the eggs hidden with great enthusiasm by the kids.

We saw Aladdin.

We got a brave babysitter and went out to dinner.

At the end of the day our Adelaide visit was all about family. It was really great and waiting until Christmas time for our next catch up seems a long time right now. Bye bye beautifuls!
